Terms of Use
BiteBoss — last updated 31 August 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and the developer of BiteBoss for the use of the BiteBoss app and the service behind it. Installing the app or signing in means you accept them. If you do not, do not use the app.
The Privacy Policy covers what the service stores and who sees it, and is part of this agreement.
What BiteBoss is, and what it is not
BiteBoss is a food diary. You photograph a meal or describe it, and the app estimates its calories and macronutrients, tracks them against a daily target computed from what you told it about yourself, and — if you join a group — shows your day to the people in that group.
Every number in the app is an estimate. Calories and macros are produced by an AI model reading a photograph or a sentence, not by weighing your food. They will sometimes be wrong, occasionally by a lot. Treat them as a running approximation, which is what they are.
BiteBoss is a wellness tool, not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent anything. It is not medical, nutritional or psychological advice, and it is not a substitute for a qualified professional. Do not use it to manage a medical condition, and do not act on anything it says — including anything the in-app coach says — in place of advice from a doctor or a registered dietitian. If you are pregnant, under 18, have a history of an eating disorder, or have any condition affected by diet, speak to a professional before changing what you eat.
If you believe you are having a medical emergency, contact your local emergency services.
Who may use it
You must be 13 or older to have an account. BiteBoss is not directed at children, and accounts are not knowingly created for anyone under 13. You are responsible for everything done through your account.
Sign-in is delegated to Apple, Google or Telegram — there is no password held here. Keep the account you sign in with secure; losing it is losing access.
Subscriptions
BiteBoss is free to use. Logging meals, your daily target, your history, groups and Apple Health all work without paying. BiteBoss Pro is an optional auto-renewing subscription that lifts the free allowance on the AI coach.
- What you get: unlimited use of the AI coach — describing and photographing meals for it to log and comment on — for the length of the subscription. Without Pro the coach is limited to a weekly allowance; everything else in the app is unaffected.
- Length and price: offered as a 1-week or a 1-year subscription. The exact price and duration of each is shown in the app before you buy, in your own currency, and is the price actually charged.
- Renewal: subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period, at the price shown, until you cancel. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase, and again within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Free trial and introductory offer: where one is offered it is shown before purchase, and any unused part of a free trial is forfeited if you buy a subscription during it. Eligibility is once per subscription group per Apple ID.
- How to cancel: in Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your device, at least 24 hours before the period ends. Cancelling stops the next renewal; the subscription stays active until the end of the period you have paid for. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
Subscriptions bought on the App Store are managed by Apple, and refunds are Apple's to give — write to Apple Support, not to us. Prices may change; you will be asked to agree before a change takes effect for your subscription.
Groups, and what you post
Groups are private and invite-only: they are joined with a code, there is no public feed, and nobody can find you by searching. What you post in a group — your meals, photographs, comments and reactions — is visible to every member of that group. Do not post anything you would not show them.
Community rules
You agree not to post, and not to use BiteBoss to send, anything that is:
- illegal, or that encourages an illegal act;
- abusive, harassing, threatening, hateful, or directed at someone because of who they are;
- sexual content, or any depiction of a minor in a sexual context;
- deliberately false in a way that could harm someone's health, including advice to starve, purge, or take a substance to lose weight;
- somebody else's personal information, or somebody else's photograph published without their agreement;
- spam, advertising, or an attempt to sell something.
Reporting. Write to [email protected] about anything you see in a group — a post, a comment, or a member. Reports are reviewed and acted on: content that breaks these rules is removed, and an account that keeps breaking them is closed. You can also leave a group at any time, which ends both what you see of its members and what they see of you.
What you keep, and what you grant. Your content stays yours. You grant the service the permission it needs to store your content and show it to the members of the groups you are in, and to nobody else. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account.
Fair use of the service
Do not attempt to break, overload, reverse-engineer or automate the service, to use it through anything other than the app, or to resell what it produces. The AI coach costs real money per request; the free allowance and the Pro cap exist so that one account cannot spend what everyone else's costs. Circumventing them ends the account.
Ending it
You can delete your account at any time in Profile → Delete account. Deletion is described in full at Delete your account; note that it does not cancel a subscription — cancel that with Apple, above.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and may stop offering the service. If the service is discontinued, you will be told in the app in time to export what you want to keep.
The App Store
You bought or downloaded BiteBoss through the App Store, which adds terms Apple requires. In plain form:
- This agreement is between you and the developer of BiteBoss, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content.
- You are granted a non-transferable licence to use BiteBoss on any Apple-branded device you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for BiteBoss. Support is [email protected].
- If the app fails to conform to any warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price; beyond that, Apple has no warranty obligation whatsoever.
- The developer, not Apple, is responsible for any claim about the app — product liability, a failure to meet a legal requirement, a consumer protection claim, or a claim that the app infringes someone's intellectual property rights.
- You confirm you are not in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and are not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms, and may enforce them against you.
The boring necessary part
The service is provided as it is, without a warranty that it will be accurate, uninterrupted or fit for any particular purpose. To the extent the law allows, the developer is not liable for loss arising from your use of the app — including any decision you make about what to eat. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and nothing here takes away a consumer right you have where you live.
These terms are governed by the law of the developer's place of establishment, without affecting any mandatory consumer protection of the country you live in.
Changes
If these terms change materially, the date at the top changes and the app says so. Continuing to use BiteBoss after that means you accept the new version.
